The Process
Michelle’s original business, Your Virtual Assistant, has proudly offered virtual bookkeeping services to small businesses across the nation. She contacted me about helping to re-brand her business so that it focused more on her accounting services instead of virtual assistance.
The first step in the re-branding process was creating a logo that reflected the goal of TBA’s services – allowing businesses to focus on the important things so that they can grow. They typeface we chose for the word “Thrive” needed to communicate a strong level of professionalism, while “business accounting” needed to be more fun and free flowing, to make that a much less daunting set of words. After all, there shouldn’t be anything scary about business accounting…that is, if you are working with Michelle!
Once we had the logo and color palette worked out I began work on the website. Michelle’s site is a customized WordPress website which focuses on showcasing her services and offering valuable resources and tools. Since accounting can be a not-so-fun subject to think or talk about, we wanted to make the website look calm and peaceful. A lot of accounting websites tend to be very “clinical”, so we steered very clear of that route.
I recently also created a business card design for Michelle. We went with the Moo Luxe MiniCards, which are a nice and creative alternative to the standard business card. I too use this same type of card. They have three layers of card stock so they are very robust and hold up well over time.
