Workers Comp Renegade

Workers Comp RENEGADE are a team of experienced Workers Comp experts led by industry veteran Mike McDonough. Together they are shattering misconceptions and blazing a new path for business owners. They’ve built a proprietary knowledge-base of strategies, systems, and methodologies that support business owners to turn their Workers Comp from a pain in the ass to a profit center. 

Mike has over 30 years of experience in the “boring” world of insurance and Workers Comp but he couldn’t take it anymore when one business owner after another expressed frustration at the way Workers Comp was run. Mike turned the industry on its head and works daily to shatter misconceptions about Workers Comp… while helping business owners create stronger businesses.

The Process

Putting an image to the word Renegade I found difficult. I had one main idea right away and that was to do a “fist of power”.  It’s the symbol used often to denote fighting against or rising up against things that are wrong.  Standing up for what’s right, rebelling against what is wrong.  Workers Comp is a necessary evil for businesses, so we wanted to create a brand that reflects the shattering of misconceptions and help businesses to feel empowered (as well as grow) when dealing with workers comp issues.

Customer’s preference was for a color palette of green, silver and black.   In terms of font choice I went with a rugged style for the word Renegade to further push the idea of fighting for something.  Battle worn but strong and solid.  I kept “Workers Comp” simple and general.
